 ***** @ the post office?

***** @ the post office?

Well, I walked into a post office to ship some books and wasn't too knowledgeable about media mail and the person suggested Fedex shipping for $25 they were about the size of a book called -The God Delusion-

My question is was I ripped off or was the person helpful? In all honesty? Because if she took advantage of this case I'm giving them a bad report.

Other Answer

1: An actual post office worker would have suggested the 'Flat Rate Shipping' boxes that they have. It seems, as noted by another poster, that you were at a contract shipping location - where they get a cut - and they were steering you to a more expensive option.
2: I would hazard a guess that you weren't in an actual US Post Office. It sounds more like you may have been somewhere that can use any of the shipping services to send items. They get a "cut" of what they sell.

Depending on the weight, you likely paid too much with FedEx. Media Mail would likely have less than half of that, although it may have taken longer to be delivered.

fir3bu1k should be along to tell you that the USPS would have ripped you off, but he is just bitter. Couldn't pass the test to be a Postal Worker so just runs around insulting people and spreading lies. Do yourself a favor and just ignore this shiftless bum.
