Why will no one tell me what's happening?

Ok, I've been seeing a variety of Pyschiatrist for 9 months now, but im I haven't been given a proper diagnosis, is this normal? When I met my first Pyschiatrist she said I had clinical depression, but my new psych (well seen her for 6months now) says it might be bipolar (she said this about 5 months ago and has said nothing else about it since)? Then today when i saw my other new (6months) psych he said I had an anxiety disorder?! Why will no one tell me what's going on, even when i ask??

Other Answer

1: It may be a combination of things and each diagnosis you've been given all have similarities...

2: Same thing happened with my brother. There is obviously something wrong with him and really he has never been properly diagnosed with ANYTHING. It's not your fault. I honestly think that we put way too much trust in dr.'s -especially psyciatric one. They do not walk on water, and they are not telling you whats wrong because THEY DONT KNOW!
3: It sometimes takes months, or even years, to get a proper diagnosis. If you're switching doctors frequently, that can prolong the process, as each doctor will have to review all your records, evaluate you for themselves, and then go over the record again, to try to find a proper diagnosis.

You need to stick with your current doctor, to allow them to get a clear picture of your symptoms. While you have a current diagnosis of anxiety disorder, that diagnosis may change as your doctor gets more opportunities to observe you.
4: They probably don't know themselves. A lot of disorders manifest themselves in very similar ways, and a lot of the time, if you have one, you are likely to have more than one. (example, anxiety and depresion often go together)
IF one psych isn't doing it for you, go to another one who will be able to help you better.
