TV AS SECOND MONITOR?

Can i have my Television act as a second monitor for my laptop?I have a TV that has an IP Address,I wanna connect it to my laptop but not using a cable( HDMI, VGA, S-video, etc) I instead would like to use my Ethernet cable. Is this possible? IF so , could you let me know at the earliest the methods to do so?

2: Not sure if you can do it wireless but if so you'd need an adapter on your computer to act as the cables would. And it is totally doable in every way you mentioned with the cables only trick is making sure your computer has the ports.
